Activities at Ashcroft Hollow
At Ashcroft Hollow, we believe that meaningful activities are at the heart of quality care.
Since Northgate acquired the home, one of our first priorities was establishing a dedicated activities team to bring vibrancy and engagement into daily life for our residents.
We’re delighted to have Sarah as the first member of our growing activities team, and we are actively recruiting a second team member to ensure there’s something enjoyable happening every day of the week. In just a short time, Sarah has created a lively, inclusive atmosphere with activities tailored to the individual needs, preferences, and abilities of our residents.

Our activities programme is thoughtfully planned to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being, with a strong focus on connection, creativity, and fun.
Whether it’s a quiet craft session or a lively singalong, there’s always something to look forward to.

Book a Visit
To help families stay involved, we share regular updates on our Ashcroft Hollow Facebook page, offering a window into daily life here—even if you can’t visit in person.
It’s a great way to keep extended family and friends connected to their loved ones’ experiences.
Some of the activities residents enjoy include:
- Live Entertainment: Age-appropriate performances by professional singers and musicians.
- Creative Workshops: Arts, crafts, knitting, and seasonal projects.
- Music & Movement: Music therapy, gentle dance, and reminiscence sessions.
- Community Outings: Visits to local attractions, garden centres, and cultural events.
- Games & Puzzles: Bingo, quizzes, card games, and jigsaws.
- Gentle Exercise: Group movement sessions, including chair-based yoga and stretching.
- Fun Competitions: Ring toss, bean bag games, skittles, and more.
- Pet Therapy: Comforting visits from therapy animals.
This list isn’t exhaustive—we actively encourage resident suggestions to help shape our calendar around what matters most to them.
Information & Costs:
All activities are displayed on a board for residents to view.
Most activities are funded through residents’ personal activity funds. However, some special outings may require a small contribution if they involve additional expenses.
