Lounges

We have two lounges. A quiet lounge is situated at the front of the house, overlooking the front gardens and car park. You can enjoy the companionship of friends in the comfortable seating, and join in activities held in here if you wish.

The garden lounge is to the rear of Lane House. This large and airy room overlooks the lovely walled garden, always kept neat and pretty by our gardening team. Here residents can watch television, listen to music, or sit and chat with friends.

Furniture is kept up to date, and is selected to be ideal for our residents to use.

Bedrooms

All bedrooms at Lane House are designed with the comfort of residents in mind. They have en-suite toilets and showers. Beds are designed specifically for older people with mobility problems. Lane House has 29 single rooms, 27 with en-suite facilities. There are 2 double rooms with en-suite facilities.

There is also plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space for personal belongings. Each room has a chair a large mirror and dressing table to keep personal items and ornaments. Or, for instance, to sit at to write a letter. Every bedroom also has a television.

Dining room

Our dining room is an elegant room overlooking the grassed courtyard. All meals are taken here, unless our residents choose to eat in their own rooms. Residents are allocated their own table, though seating arrangements can be changed, for instance if you want to eat with friends.

Gardens

Our walled garden, is a safe and secure place to enjoy the fresh air, and has been designed to perfectly suit people with dementia.

Our residents often go for a little stroll to admire the many colourful flowers and shrubs, with benches and seats dotted about to have a rest on the way.

Or they can sit and enjoy the sun in summer, on our large garden patio.

The garden has been specially designed, many of our residents love to sit on the circular bench that runs right round a large tree in the garden. It’s a lovely place to read a book.

We also have a greenhouse where residents can do a spot of potting and pottering. There is also every opportunity for our green fingered residents to contribute ideas about what we grow in the garden.

The garden also has a seating area in one of its corners, which catches the best of the sun, and has a water feature nearby. We have another tranquil courtyard garden with a bubbling water feature, scented flower beds and shrubs which attract lots of butterflies in summer.

There are also benches there, to sit out and enjoy the sights and smells of the garden, with friends and family.
