Dear Mr Haines,

I am writing to thank you, and the other owners, and the Care Team for all you have done over the past three years in caring for my mother Janine Hughes.

My mother moved into The Firs three years ago and Vicky, Chris and the team made her, and my sister and I feel welcome. As her dementia worsened they cared for her and made us feel happy that she was in such a safe, friendly environment. They saw her through two broken hips, a minor stroke, and the end stage of dementia.

I would like to thank yourselves and Chris particularly for having my mother back from hospital this alot time, I am fully aware of how much more care she needed. To lose a parent is hard but to know that she was amongst people she knew or more importantly who knew her, made a real difference. My sister and I where able to spend her last day together in the peaceful surroundings of her room with all her belongings, that used to mean so much to her, around us.

The staff where very caring, offering us drinks, food and support. They came and spoke to my mother and us and answered any questions we had.

Once again many thanks for your help in making the last years of my mother’s life the best they could be.

Along the way we bought a hospital type bed so my mother could stay at the Firs. I am happy to leave the bed to be sued by other residents as needed.
